Presently, NEFT operates in half hourly batches.
There will be 48 half-hourly batches every day.
The settlement of first batch will commence after 00:30 hours and the last batch will end at 00:00 hours.
The system will be available on all days of the year, on a 24 x 7 basis, including holidays..
How long will it take for NEFT transfer?
NEFT means National Electronic Fund Transfer which is a nationwide electronic payment system allowing the quick interbank transfer of funds. The transactions between banks are processed and settled in batches of one hour on netting off basis. Hence, the time to transfer the funds can range between 1-2 hours.
Can Neft take more than 2 hours?
NEFT Transactions are extremely swift and can take as little as 15 minutes. However, sometimes it can take as long as 2 hours. This is extremely rare though and you can expect credit anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour. The charges for making an NEFT transfer are around Rs 2.50 per Rs 10,000 that is sent.
Can Neft be Cancelled?
Online NEFT can be done only within the mentioned cut off time. We cannot stop the payment or cancel and NEFT trasanction that is already initiated. NEFT is becoming the most preferred e-transfer method.
Can I do RTGS on Sunday?
Under the current rules, the transfers can be made between 7 AM and 6 PM on all working days except for the second and fourth Saturday of the month and on Sundays. The announcement comes after the RBI made the NEFT facility available 24X7 from December 16, 2019.
